Content Roundup - Week of October 6, 2025
Hey there,
I hope your having a fantastic week. I'm excited to share a few new resources this week - one of them really hits home to the toughest time in my life. As you may (or may not) already know, storage gave my family peace of mind when I was unable to work. I hope you enjoy the resources, but also really take the message to heart. I love educating people on how to create wealth and own real estate because of how it helped me during this difficult time.
Alright, here's what you'll learn this week:
âś… How direct investing saved my family when I lost everything
âś… Case study: Entering the storage market with ZERO experience
âś… Where to invest next now that we are entering the Fed's easing cycle

[ AJO Podcast ] How Direct Investing Saved My Family (After I Lost Everything)
The financial advice you got from teachers, parents, and investment advisors is designed to preserve wealth, not create it. There are two separate economic systems running in parallel - public markets for wealth preservation and direct investing for wealth creation. The wealthy use both, but most people only have access to one.
Public markets are heavily regulated, low-risk, and designed to protect the public through intermediaries and diversification. But that same protection strips away the tax advantages, leverage, control, and massive upside that comes with direct ownership. Direct investing - owning businesses, commercial real estate, and assets outright - is where wealth gets created. It's not just for the wealthy. It's how people become wealthy. The problem is we've been told this system is too risky and told to stick with 401(k)s and index funds instead. That advice works for preserving money you already have, but if you're trying to build wealth from nothing, the math doesn't work. You're investing after-tax dollars that need to double just to break even.
Direct investing saved my family when I became paralyzed and lost my corporate job - because I owned assets that kept paying me regardless of my ability to work - which you'll hear more about in this episode.

[ SSI Podcast ] 6 Self Storage Investments in 4 Years (Starting with ZERO Experience)
In 2020, self storage investments weren’t on Nick and Steven May’s radar. But after hearing an episode of this podcast, they decided it might be their next great opportunity. Luckily, a small vacation market two hours south of them had old, poorly-reviewed facilities around. So they did what everyone with little experience and a desire to invest should do: started calling owners without expectations. One owner was willing to sell, and the ball started rolling.
Fast forward four years from their first purchase, and Nick and Steven have six facilities, all in the same market. They’ve gotten better at negotiating, underwriting self storage, and running their business. How did two guys scale to 150,000+ square feet in self storage space without any prior experience? Today, they’re sharing exactly how they did it.

[ Youtube Short ] The Fed's Easing Cycle: Where to Invest Next
The investing landscape is about to change dramatically - and it's all driven by the same force that made the last 5 years so challenging. The Fed's shift to an easing cycle is creating a massive reallocation of capital that will fuel certain industries while leaving others behind.
This isn't just another rate cut - it's a fundamental shift in how money flows through the economy, creating generational opportunities for those positioned correctly.
Hope you enjoy the new content.
That's it for this week - until next time!
